Post subject:  [ENViR] read device status from USB

Hello,

I successfully used a Perl script to read the Watt usages from a particular device (that is always on) using an IAM.
Using this data, I wanted to determine when somebody is actually using the device and when it is in idle mode.
This could be done by parsing the large log file.

Although, I noticed that when somebody is using the device, there is an additional reading on the ENViR device, saying "UP!" (see attached picture).
I am curious whether I could extract that reading also using the USB cable?
Or is there another suggestion on how to extract the moments when the device is actually being used?

Thanks

am i missing something ? surely just check the power used when you read the xml data if its above a certain amount then the device is being used :-)
