Just checking if everyone else has an accurate digital thermometer? For some reason mine seems to be reading about 3C higher that the other thermometers I have checked it against. Could the sensor be picking up a local heat source such as the power supply? Cheers LGC |

I have found the same with the ENViR units that i have. They read about 3C too high. This is compared to 4 other digital temperature sensors that all agree with each other +/- 0.2 C and allowed to stabilise over a prolonged period of several days in very close proximity. I have also compared to an old glass thermometer which is surprisingly close to my other digital thermometers to within say +/- 0.5 C at normal room temperatures. (i haven't tried extremes of temperatures to check linearity) I didn't make the comparison using the full ENViR data output that includes the tenth of a degree. This was just a rough observation of about 3C difference on the main ENViR LCD display. For instance if the ENViR display changed from 23C to 22C my other sensors would be indicating about 19.x C The difference isn't always exactly 3C but the reaction times are much slower on the ENViR compared to other sensors but there is always a minimum of atleast 2C of error but close on 3C most of the time. I do almost wonder if the over reading is deliberate psychologically to act as a placebo to make us all think it's warmer than it actually is, and turn the heating down a little bit. |

I'm also getting a higher temperature than expected, byt between about 3 to 4 degrees. Is this a problem with the unit, shoudl I return it for excahnge. |

That pretty much obsoletes the rectal thermometer youve been using to check your receivers temperature. If youd only known a year ago. Rope |
