Post subject: | PWM Immersion Heater and incorrect readings |
Hi, I've recently had Solar PV installed along with a pulse width modulation (PWM) controlled immersion heater. Unfortunately the Currect Cost CC128 is now reading inaccurately when the immersion is active. For example when the immersion is using about two thirds of it's power the current cost will only read about one third. I have another older electricity meter which seems to be able to read correctly. Is there anything I can configure on the Current Cost to make it read the power usage correctly? Thanks. |

I'm presuming that you have a current clamp style monitor. Sadly there isn't anything much you can do, as it is a side effect of how the measurements are taken on the Current Cost device. Jack Kelly highlights this issue in an . I would expect that the optismart monitor shouldn't suffer from this issue (although I've not tested it per se), but that isn't necessarily a good reason to replace your current setup. |
