I'm a newbie here so be kind, not sure where is the best place to post this....

I see that the GPM API is deprecated, meaning no more API development. I'm not a developer, so what does this mean for getting multiple feeds from CurrentCost to GPM? Is that now dead?

Does anyone know if Google are required to supply GPM to those utility companies for a specified time period?

I am waiting for more details from Google regarding this and will provide more details when I get them.

Any update on this? From reading the announcement I'm not clear whether new users can sign up to existing services (ie if I buy a CC meter for another property) or whether the whole scheme is now shut and ring fenced just for existing users?

We are still not sure regarding the implications going forward. However, I think Google will be making a formal announcement regarding PowerMeter very soon.

I bought an EnviR+bridge this week and set it up today from scratch on Google Power Meter and it works fine!

Google today announced that they will be retiring PowerMeter on 16 September 2011. You can read the official announcement here: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/06/ ... oogle.html

If you use the Current Cost PowerMeter desktop software or if you have setup forwarding on my.currentcost.com, this will continue to work until 16 September. However, no further bug fixes will be made to PowerMeter software.

Thanks for the info - that's a shame about Google Power Meter. I guess that My Current Cost will take its place for CC users and I look forward to seeing any new developments in the way that it works in the months and years ahead. Its presentation of power and temperature is excellent, although it would be nice to change the timeframe from being just one day.

So can we expect new/better software to forward our data elsewhere? Last time I tried the Pachube software (for OSX) it was iffy at best, yet Pachube is the only serious option I see aside from GPM.

I guess there's no need for me to complain about a the lack of a Mac version of the GPM Updater software now though.

Will current cost be developing extra features to plug the gap between Google power meter and the current offering before it goes down ?
, i like the daily usage graph and monthly ... also the älways on information is helpful.

Its a shame, a few of the google features were very interesting.

I particularly like the usage graphing by day/week/month, and the time of use graphs (coloured bar charts).

Hopefully these can be future features of my.currentcost.com :)

The energy saving tips were rather pointless, and the tariff/cost settings were to limited to be of any use. Its a shame google has decided to drop the project, it had great potential with just a little more tweaking to make it extremely useful.
