I've just bought an analogue development board and am trying to use it with a temperature sensor. The instructions at
http://currentcost.posterous.com/curren ... cification are a little vague. Can anybody clarify the points below?
Power Supply
+2.2V to +3.4V DC max at 25mA pk, 0mA standby (do not let the PSU volts rise at zero load)
What does it mean when it says do not let the PSU volts rise at zero load? I'm using a 3V battery so I have a feeling that this statement is meaningless
Pin Connections
Pin 1 - Sensor Signal Voltage input
Pin 2 - PSU -ve & sensor Signal Voltage ground
Pin 3 - PSU -ve & sensor Signal Voltage ground
Pin 4 - Not present.
This appears to relate to the three identically coloured wires. There are no pin numbers so it isn't clear which pin is which. Which of the three wires is the sensor input?
Signal Input Range
Depending on your sensor, you may wish to omit or remove R12 (180-ohm).
What does R12 do and how is it connected on the schematic?
Envi Display XML
Provided the Sensor's pins 3 and 4 are shorted, a paired 'Appliance' channel on an Envi Display will register the above Watts values on the appliance screen, and output a value purporting to come from an electricity CT sensor in the XML for that Appliance/Sensor. Only 'ch1' will be present. If the sensor's 4P4C jack pins 3 and 4 are not shorted, the value will be zero.
Where are sensor pins 3 and 4. Is pin 3 one of the three identical wires and pin 4 the unused via in the same cluster? Or are pins 3 and 4 on J1? What is 4P4C?
Many thanks
