Hi

Looking at your figures have you noticed it counts exactly 5 pulses each 28 seconds throughout the night. I noticed my Optismart sensor flashes when the transmitter LED flashes, I have not timed those flashes, but I bet its 5 every 28 Seconds. Could this be the source your phantom counts?

I'd just like to add that I have the same problem with my 2 optismarts (one on my generation meter and one on my export meter). When the LED on the meter is permanently lit (indicating that no current is flowing in the "normal" direction) the pulse count continues to increment. As already observed, the LED on the optismart flashes every few seconds at a rate that seems to correspond to the rate of increase in the pulse count.

My OptiSmart on my Solar PV Inverter circuit displays zero usage at night, but I have stuck black gaffer tape over the sensor on the generation meter, partly to hold it on and partly as when my garage door was open and the sun was out I got a zero reading. Perhaps this also blocks the regular red LED flash from the transmitter affecting the sensor's flash count.

Thanks for the reply. I've just tried sticking tape over the optismarts on both my meters but the problem is still there. I'm not drawing anything from the grid just now so the meter shows 0 watts on that optismart but the pulse count in the xml data on channel 9 is still increasing

It must be a bug in the device....

The real-time (dynamic) power shows zero watts but the meter impulse (data) count goes up.

If the real-time (dynamic) power display read 650 watts it would be a different issue.

I'm seeing the same problem with an Optismart reader on my house meter. Have just had a period of exporting so the EnviR is reading 0 but the impulses are incrementing and the LED on the sensor is flashing. I did check the LED on the actual meter to see if there was any trace of a flash but nothing visible to the eye. I also blanked off the meter cupboard to make it dark and that made no difference.
