I have successfully connected the transmitter and monitor supplied by E.on but when I install their desktop software it comes up with the following error message:

"A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Netowk interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified."

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the software without success. I am running Vista.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

A tricky one :)

The installation of the EON software installs various components / programs and one of those is SQL Server.

It sounds like the Current Cost front end / part of the installation is not seeing the SQL Server component.

If you check your add / remove programs and sort by install date you can see what new items were installed on the date the Eon software was loaded.

I did try this once on a XP Netbook but as you could not resize the program windows to fit the small Netbook screen I gave up and reinstalled the laptop from scratch to remove all the components.

Automan.

OK, but I don't quite follow what you are suggesting. When I have my list of installed components and can see the most recent ones what do I do then?
