I sympathize with your predicament

The problem is that CC has not done a good job of managing expectations.They say we can download -OK we can after a fashion! We expect download to be fully functional!

Economics has come between US and THEM. By my reckoning they have sold less than 1000 units @ UKP25, which is pretty cheap for what you get. That's not a lot to cover development and production costs, let alone leaving something in the kitty to provide further enhancement. This means we are on our own unless the extra functionality is going to sell a lot more units.

Getting back to your predicament. I have been working with Pedro14 to develop a spreadsheet that automatically downloads data from PVoutput.org. The APIs are similar so a lot of the macro code should be reusable against Pachube. Not promising anything at the moment, and if its feasible, I couldn't start for a week. It would take about another week to get it working. With that timeline would that help with your dissertation? There would be no charge.

Main page reckons "2,145,298 units sold" (on 14/4/2012) so they must be doing OK worldwide?

At the end of the day if a company doesn't respond to emails or answer simple questions with its existing customer base, these customers don't tend to promote / recommend a product. Customer support is very important (certainly in my eyes) and promoting things like gas and water monitoring and still no sign of either along with the inability to simply download historic data (cos lets face it most people that purchase this want to tinker with data) otherwise we would be happy with the simple energy monitor that just simply says how much we are consuming at that moment in time......Anyway I'm complaining too much....sorry...

I would be very interested in trying out anything that would make downloading data easier (I don't use the USB just the bridge - that's another story to with windows 7x64)

So far thanks to your input I have managed to download (using pachube) data from Jan 1st to 2nd Feb (took me most of yesterday!!) very painful waiting 3 min between getting next file...
Using command: http://api.pachube.com/v2/feeds/CURRENTCOST no. HERE/datastreams/0.csv?start=2012-02-27T12:15:56Z&end=2012-03-02T23:59:00Z&per_page=1000&interval=300

changing the dates that are highlighted in red each time
Also the 0.csv (highlighted in green) can be changed to choose the channels data you want to download (for me 0 = Temp, 1 = All electricity)


16000+ lines in excel

I have used excel "text to columns" to separate the date, time and temp readings and this allows me to produce graphs etc.

Only a couple more months to go (hopefully not downloading) and then all I have to do it all again for the electricity consumption and IAMS (dont think I will have patients for IAMS)

Hi,

I am connecting to the enviR with a USB RJ45 cable.
I use the windows XP
I tried the currentcostgui software suggested in the currentcost site, i managed to connect to see the online data but can not manage to download the history.
I need to doanload the data once in a while.

Is this what you wanted to know?
