Hi,
I have Solar PV. I got an optismart for my household consumer unit and moved the original clamp sensor to the cable from the PV panel.
This is not really a problem, just an observation. At night while predominantly the PV clamp shows 0 units on my.currentcost.com, it does have a few small bumps. These correspond with very high peak demand from the grid. For example last night the dryer came on (E7) and gave a 4.5Kw peak. There was a corresponding peak on the PV plot at the same time. I assume this is either the clamp picking up very large usage in it's vaccinity, even though not from the cable it's clamped around.
I'll experiment with where the clamp is located. Wonder if the smaller diameter clamp might be less sensitive to external sources Clearly a second optismart dedicated to the PV consumer unit would be the best route, but am happy to use it for PV where I'm interested in trending rather than total accuracy.
