Many thanks...

Just had a 3Kw spike on my Fridge IAM and a 14Kw spike on my Board Meter OptiSmart.

Browsing the raw xml for those times I see no readings over 500watts so I suspect either a bridge software issue or website software issue.

Anyone else using the new bridge?

How is it working?

Automan.

Not using yet but am ordering the ugrade Pro 24. I have paid my money and received details from Current cost. Now I have to send my old bridge back for upgrade. They say it will take 3 to 5 days. Oh well! I will have to go back to the 'old' system while I am waiting.

Just got my bridge upgraded to a netsmart 12.

Seems to be working fine.

They turned mine round very quickly, but I live just up the road from CC.

Just plugged the netsmart back in after it had been re-flashed. waited 5 minutes and when I next logged into my.currentcost.com I had the new UI and could give meaningful names to my IAM devices (specifically one IAM and one older clamp - with an optismart giving the meter reading)

I don't know whether to just buy another bridge for my PV system EnviR or to move to a multi-channel system. I think it would be too expensive to ship the existing bridge back to the UK for an upgrade.

I am still having some issues but CC think I may have a bad IAM's which have just arrived so I will swap it out...

Image
As you will see last night my new bridge thought I used rather a lot of power with the two spikes adding over 5kwh on the daily total.

Image
While my old bridge reported a more normal night...

Both are connected to EnviR paired to the same devices....

Been waiting for the multi-channel bridge to come on sale for weeks.

It arrived at the weekend and I've tried installing today. No go. Router can't see it, despite loads of flashing LED activity by the bridge for about 7 secs, then a second when none are lit, then 7 secs of activity. No amount of switching everything off and on can persuade the router to make friends with the bridge. Disappointing

I'm running some tests over the next couple of days to work out why this is happening for some users. Bear with me, hope to have news by the start of next week.

Playing some more it looks like the xml coming out of the envir is just now and again corrupt.

e.g.

<msg><src>CC128-v1.29</src><dsb>00036</dsb><time>00:42:16</time><tmpr>19.3</tmpr><sensor>9</sensor><id>01828</id><type>2</type><imp>0000374612</imp><ipu>1000</ipu></msg>

<msg><src>CC128-v1.29</src><dsb>00036</dsb><time>00:42:20</time><tmpr>19.3</tmpr><sensor>3</sensor><id>00230</id><type>1</type><ch1><watts>00055</watts></ch1><imp>0000320801</imp><ipu>1000</ipu></msg>

<msg><src>CC128-v1.29</src><dsb>00036</dsb><time>00:42:20</time><tmpr>19.3</tmpr><sensor>4</sensor><id>02099</id><type>1</type><ch1><watts>00004</watts></ch1></msg>

<msg><src>CC128-v1.29</src><dsb>00036</dsb><time>00:42:21</time><tmpr>19.3</tmpr><sensor>0</sensor><id>01310</id><type>1</type><ch1><watts>00239</watts></ch1></msg>

You will note the one in bold has the watts and impulse count data on the same line but normally they would be separate (see the other lines).

Thus I think the spikes equal the impulse count of the meter with the Netsmart thinks is the watts.

Quick fix (if I am correct) is not to pair the data channel of any OptiSmarts you have and thus no impulse count data to upload.

What I have done is power up my old clamp, paired it with the data channels of my Optismarts and then taken the battery out.

Will not know for a day or so if it helps as the spikes are so random...

I have one envir with the data channels removed feeding the bridge and another envir outputting xml.

The xml output one (a nice white current cost envir) has another bit of bad data....

But no nasty spike on the website :)

So as a quick fix it looks like the answer is to remove the data channels from the envir connected to your netsmart bridge (either a factory reset or pair data channels with a clamp and then take the clamp battery out.

I suspect as the error occurs on any appliance channel that the problem may be in the envir units.

If not it must be the OptiSmart's or of course I am talking rubbish :)
